THE SHAREMARKET.
Standard stocks had fair demand on the Exchange to-day, but shares in mining companies had little attention. Auckland Gas new issue were a little firmer, £10 '2s 6d being ottered to-day. Buyers of New Zealand Shipping also advanced their offers to 86s, but no sales resulted. Mount Lyell shares had demand at £10, and North Lyell at 445. New Zealand Crown shares firmed a little, 16s Gd being offered.
