A man named Robert Spenser has been admitted to the Hospital, having been sent down from Aratapu with a broken leg. At a land sale held to-day by Messrs Hunter and Nolan, a property of 10 acres in the parish of Takapuna was sold for £10 ss. One hundred and fifty acres in the parish of Manaia, Wliangarei Heads, sold for 5s an acre. Mr J. T. Garlick, writing from London by last mail to a friend in Auckland, says that he has been suffering severely from bronchitis, and in fact he has been ailing from the very first week he landed. He wants no more English trips, and if he is spared to get back to sunny Auckland lie will remain there content for life. He has been making a round of visiting with the Rev. Thomas Spurgeon. His impression of Manchester was that it was a fine city, but he had enough of it, and was off to Glasgow by the next day. Mr Garlick thinks of abandoning his' American trip purely on the score of health, and expects to return to Auckland by direct steamer. So far the trip has givenno benefit to his health, but much to the contrary. Messrs W. and G.
