TO CORRESPONDENTS.

Diseased Fowl.—Rosecomb,North: Shore, writes to ask for a cure for a cock which is described as very bad with canker of the tongue and throat, having tried several remedies without success. In the first place tlie disease is probably the result of roup, and not true canker; but in. any case from his letter I should say the bird was not worth trying to cure, the case being probably hopeless. At the same time, I could not give a*hy reliable advice in such a.. case without seeing the bird. Tlie best remedies I know of. for canker or aggravated "cases of voup producing Chronic uleetation are Labarftigue's sohjtiori of chlorinated soda, and McDougall's fluid car-1 bolate. The throat and tongue should be " swabbed " over with a plug o~f lint tied on to a bit of stick, and dipped into the carbolate solution, diluting in the prbtiortion of three parts water to one of CRrbolate. This treatment should be repeated two or three times a day, and a little sulphur should be mixed with the feed. The solution of chlorinated soda could be used in the same way, but at its full strength.",
