MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.
Nonpareil.— In the drive east on Wade reef a distance of 4ft has been driven, and the hanging Avail portions taken down. This portion of the reef is rather small, but it has shown gold freely. A few pieces of very fair picked stone has been selected. The country is not at all favourable for speedy progress, but is of a good description for gold. The manager has sent three loads from this reef to the battery for treatment. There are also three loads from the Liverpool reef to crush. Both parcels should be finished about Wednesday. :
Kaiser.—We are now taking out quartz from the west end of the winze. We had fair dirt in the level .over this. Crushing was started on Thursday with ten head of stampers. It is shaping on the plates very well.
Moanataiari Extended.—The reef that is being driven upon has opened out to about 3ft in thickness. The lode is well defined. A leader about 9 inches thick has been cut through. May Queen Extended. —The manager writes re crushing :—From the first reef in crosscut 2 loads i-etnrned loz 4dwts gold ; seven loads from the third reef in crosscut, 2oz 16clwt; from live loads, Hague Smith reef, 220z; total, 20oz retorted gold; melted gold, 250z 4dwt, value £72 9s.
