DEATH OF ROBERT THOMPSON.

The man Robert Thompson, grocer, of Newton Road, who cut his throat on Sunday, the 9th inst., died of his injuries at the" Hospital at 5 o'clock last evening. When he was admitted to the institution no hope for his recovery was felt, and it is to be wondered at that he survived so long, as his'injuries were so severe.

An inquest is being held at the Hospital* this afternoon before Dr. Philson, coroner. Dr. Walker deposed that he was called in to attend deceased on 9th inst. He found him suffering from a wound six inches long in the throat. The windpipe was partly severed. Deceased was suffering from heart disease, and was very much depressed. He considered che wound caused his death. The inques is still proceeding.
