OUR GOLDFIELDS.
JESSIE.
The syndicate that has worked this Tapu mine for some time past has now been formed into a limited liability company with a capital of £10,000, of which Mr E. B. Seal ey was appointed legal manager. At the mine men are now engaged erecting a battery.
PURU CONSOLIDATED
In the mine the leading stope is being taken along the No. 2 level and ihe necessary timber is also being put in preparatory to commencing permanent stoping operations when the battery is completed. Outside the mine the necessary ground trams and shoots to connect with the upper terminus of the aerial tram are being proceeded with. The contractor for the battery is living on the ground supervising the preliminary work of erection. Most of the timber for the battery is on the ground and the work of excavation completed. Operations on the water race and aerial tram have also been started. The whole of the works are expected to be completed by the end of March (contract time).
WAIHI AND WAITEKAUKI MINES.
Cleaning up at the Waihi and Waitekauri mines will not take place until the end of the month. The result of the crushing will therefore not be made known until the first week in February.
