AN UNCHARTED ROCK.
STRUCK BY THE. TCTANEKAI,
ONE PROPELLER DAMAGED

Captain Fairchild has informed the Marine Department that tbe s.s. Tutanekai struck an uncharted rock in Daggs' Sound, north of Preservation Inlet, a few days ago, and had to.run in there for shelter. The spot where the rock exists is marked on the chart as being 84 fathoms deep. . The damage appears to be confined to one of tlie propeller blades. Further examination will he made when the vessel arrives in Wellington.
