TELEGRAM FROM THE PREMIER.

The Mayor has received a telegram from Mr Seddon sympathising with the settlers who suffered privations, and stating that Mr Walker would shortly visit the district, and that the desire of the Government, where circumstances warrant it, was to extend practical sympathy.
