DOCKING H.M.S. KATOOMBA.
SENSATIONAL ACCIDENT.
TWO MEN KILLED,
SYDNEY, December 29.
A sensational accident took place at Mort's Dock. While the steamer Katoomba was being docked the tackle collapsed and she slipped from the cradle. A large number of dock hands were thrown into the water. Two, named Nelson and Gallagher, were drowned, and two others, Morley and Reminbough, were injured. The others were rescued by swimming ashore. By the force of the plunge the steamer backed right across the bay, and narrowly escaped running into several ferry steamers moored on the opposite side.
