WAR IN INDIA.
ADVANCE THROUGH THE
KHYBER PASS,
CALCUTTA, December 28.
The troops under Colonel G. Hammond have reached Lundikotal at the crest of Kiiyber Pass, which was captured by the rebels in August last. The interior fort was found destroyed and the water supply stopped. The telegraph wire to Fort Ali Musfid, which also fell into the hands of the enemy, had been cut. The force was engaged in desultory fighting while marching upon Lundikotal.
