OUR RAILWAY SYSTEM.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Can you explain why, if you purchase a railway ticket, that you must travel on the same day that the ticket is issued ? Why should this be so ? Why should the public be tied down like this ? Why should we not be allowed to purchase tickets when we like, and use them when we like ? I fancy if this last question was in force it would add to the revenue, because many persons might bny tickets for say next week, but when next week came round they might alter their arrangement, aud not use the rail at all, and so the rail would gain the value of the ticket. What need the railway to care when I travel or whether I do not travel at all after I have purchased a ticket. —I am, etc.,
Traveller.
