CONDENSED CORRESPONDENCE.
"J.L." complains of a smoke nuisance arising from a local factory. He should send his complaint to the City Council which will no doubt make inquiry into the matter.
"B° declares that the illegal sale of liquor was very prevalent in Auckland on Christmas Day and the Sunday following. He adds : " Thank goodness, there will be a Police Commission sitting here soon, and won't some of us have a tale to unfold ?"
" Justice for Our Little Ones " suggests as a simple remedy for the caning malady that the Board instruct all headmasters to forward a monthly report of all canings, name of child, number of cuts, the offence, and teacher's name. She thinks the teachers would then find it easier to instruct than cane.
