Play was resumed in the CanterburyHawke's Bay cricket match at 10.30, the weather having cleared. The wicket was sodden and opened very heavily, but improved as the game advanced. Cobcroft succumbed shortly after the resumption without adding to his score of yesterday. Reese, however, got nicely sec and carried his total to 18. Ridley and Pearce then came together and made a fine stand, boundary hits coming frequently. At 11.45 the score stood at 140 for three wickets : Cobcroft, c Wolstenholme, b Hughes,., 14 Wrigley, c Martin, b Lusk 32' Reese, c Cato, b Ltisk 18 Ridley, not out 43 Pearce, not out ... ... ... ... 18 Extras 13 Total for 3 wickets... 143 Canterbury closed their innings just at luncheon adjournment for 217. The wicket, played very well throughout. The Hawke's '.Bay fielding was good with one or two exceptions.
