PONSONBY ANNUAL REGATTA.
The Ponsonby Regatta, held on Saturday, Dec. 4, passed oft' most successfully. The following are the results : — Cruisers.—First prize, £sfss and picture. Corinna, shrs 24min Usee; Rogue, shrs 24min 23sec ; Yum Yum, ohrs 25min lsec. On her time allowance the Rogue takes the first place. Yacht (Class C).—First prize, £10 10s and trophy. Aorere, 6hrs 16min 20sec ; Moana, 6hrs 17min 6sec ; Thetis, 6hrs 18min 4sec; Rangatira, 6hrs 21min 13sec. The Thetis takes the prize on time allowance.
Yachts (Class D.).—First prize £10 10s and trophy. Meteor, 6hrs 19min 27see ; Windward, 6hrs 24min 4sec; Kotiri, Ghrs 24min 27sec ; Rarere, 6hrs 25min 38sec. On time allowance the Windward takes the prize. Half-raters. —First prize, £5 ss. Result: Edna, 4hrs 26min 44sec; Snowdrop, ,4hrs 34min 40sec ; Thella, 4hrs 35min.
Yachts (Class E.) First prize, £7 7s and trophy. Result: Mahoe, 6hrs 6sec; Orewa, Ghr Smin 36sec.
22-Footers and Under. —Sea Breeze, 4hrs 30min ; Welcome Jack, 4hrs 30min 33sec ; Etta, 4hrs 36min 52sec.
Maiden Gigs, under lOst. —First prize £8 Bs. West End, H. Adams (1), C. Slytield (2), G. Ross (3), L. Gannon (stroke), 1 ; St. George's, A. 0. Brett (1), G. George (2), H. Littlejohn (3), F. Davies (stroke), 2 ; Waitemata, R. Marshall (1), W. Madden (2), G. Madden (3), J. Payne (stroke), 3. Dingy Race, youths under 18. First prize trophy value £2 2s. One entry.—C. Warne, 1.

Man-o'-War and Naval Cutters. Two entries. —First prize, £10 10s. After a very close race,- Ponsonby beat H.M.s. Torch by about two feet.

Dingy race.—First prize, trophy value £2 2s. C. 0. Hughes, 1; T. Masefield, 2. Junior gigs (under lOst). First prize, £8 Bst. One entry.—West End, being the only crew to enter, rowed over the course.
Tub race. First prize, pair boots value £1 ss.—This race caused a great amount of amusement, most of the competitors being capsized. E. Cunningham, 1. Stump Outriggers.—First prize, £2 2s and .trophy. F. Baker, 45sec, 1; A. Dacre, scratch, 2 ; A. McHardy, scratch, 3. Yachts' dingies.—A. Dacre, 1 ; Parker,
Man-o'-War Cutters.—Port and starboard crews of H.M.s. Torch: The starboard crew of Quartermaster James beat the port crew of Gunner Challinor by a few lengths. Side Shows.—The side shows caused much amusement, and the winners were as follows:—Greasy Boom: Scott, Ist. Fancy dress prize : Macleod. Water Tournament :A. Dacre was the winner. Greasy Pig : After an exciting contest the pig was caught by F. Connor. Duck Hunt: Bert Bailey acted as duck and was caught by J. M'Leod.
