WAR IN INDIA.
INTENSE COLD.
CALCUTTA, November 26.
Besides having to negotiate a terribly difficult defile Brigadier-General Westmaeott's march to Duatoie was greatly impeded by the intense cold. Seventeen degrees of frost were recorded. Several members of the force were frost-bitten, and the breath congealed on the men's beards and formed into icicles.
CALCUTTA, November 26. An important section of Afridis and Tribesmen are suing for peace.
