INDUCTION SERVICE AT ONEHUNGA.

The Rev. Robert Wylie, late of Canonbury, London, was inducted yesterday afternoon to the pastorate of the Presbyterian Church, Onehunga. The Rev. G. B. Monro acted as moderator, and the Revs. R. Somerville, T. Norrie, Scott West, R. Ferguson and D. J. Steele represented the Presbytery. Devotional exercises were conducted by the Rev. D. J. Steele, of Otara. Addresses were delivered by the Rev. J. M. Mitchell, of Hamilton, on "The Cliuroh," by the Ivev. G. B. Monro on the duties of the new pastor, and by the Rev. D. J. Steele on " The Duties and Privileges of the Members and Adherents." After answering a number of formal questions put by the Presbytery, the Rev. R, Wylie was given the right hand of fellowship and declared to be the minister of the Onehunga Presbyterian Church. In the evening a large company sat down to an excellent tea provided in the schoolroom. The following ladies presided : Misses Harris, Brown, Adams, Allan, Crawford, Connolly (2), Mesdames Whyte, Adams, Barr, Gilman, Neave, Wallace, Prime and Brown. After tea an enthusiastic meeting was held in the Church, which was beautifully decorated with green lycopodium, interspersed with white roses, Marguerite daisies, punga leaves, green oats, and geraniums being also used to advantage, the whole effect being very pleasing. The Rev. G. B. Monro presided, and addresses of welcome were delivered by the Revs. Canon Haselden (Anglican), B. Rhodes (Congregational) S. Lawry (Wesleyan), Captain Gore (Salvation Army), J. M. Mitchell, D. J. Steele, R. Sommerville,andT. Norrie (Presbyterian). During the evening the following musical items were rendered under the able conductorship of Mr H. Prime, Mrs Neave acting as accompanist. Solo: "Consider the Lilies," Mr W. L. Prime; song, " Nazareth," Mi' Dryland; solo, " I Know that My Redeemer Liveth," Miss M. Taylor ; duet, Messrs Adams and J.Harris, with chorus by the choir, and two anthems by the choir, "Behold I Bring," and "Break Forth into Joy." A most enjoyable meeting was closed with the pronouncement of the Benediction.
