The returns from the various mines for He past month total £34,096 16s, which ihows an apparent decrease of £682 13s 3d. Taken separately, the yield from Coronandel shows an increase this month. Ihat from the Upper Thames totals fi6 48818s 3d, which is more than the outijt'from all the mines in the Peninsula Lt April- The return from the Thames fen a slight falling off, owing to the. fact (hat only tailings were treated by the Tanm Creek Company, low grade ore at lie Alburnia battery, while no returns T ere received from the other leading flames companies. Next month's returns should show an increase, as the Komata jteefs Company's crushing is shaping for a parable return, and the Waitekauri Extended Company's new battery has now tonunenced operations.
