Tenders were opened on Nov. 18, by the Dunedin City Sinking Fund Commissioners for fifteen N"ew Zealand Government 4 per cent. Immigration and Public Works Loan debentures of i'loo each, payable in 1913. Four tenders were received for the full amount, ranging from £100 Is Oil to £104. and one for £300 at £105 Is. The latter tender was accepted, and £1,200 allotted to the tenderer at £104.
At Christchureh on November 2, a recumbent marble statue of the late Bishop Harper, of Christchureh, was unveiled before a large congregation in the Cathedral, by his son, Canon Harper, and Mr Henry Slater, the chancellor of the diocese. Bishop Julius gave an address. The statue is by F. J. Williamson, of Esher, Surrey, and is a striking likeness and aTme artistic work.
