Woodstock.

£3,171 FOR THE MONTH

The return for the past four weeks from the Woodstock mine, Karangahake, shows a decided improvement, the average value of the ore treated being £3 2s 2d per ton as compared with £2 14s 6d the previous month. The present return, includes the yield from the two tons of ore from the six inch leader. This when treated at Frazer and bons plant yielded £325. Still apart from this the average value of the ore treated at the Company's battery during the past month shows that it is of improved grade. In all during the past month 1,020 tons of ore were treated for a return of bullion valued at £3,171. The previous month five tons of ore less were treated, the output being worth £2,765. Developments at the Woodstock mine reveal a happy state of affairs at No. 4 level, where the lode is 6 feet wide in the face without the footwall showing, whilst the quality of the ore is of the best average value yet obtained in any part of the main lode. this augurs well for future developments at. No. 5 level, where the face has till 400 feet to go to get

under the face of No. 4 level, especially considering the improvement in the size and quality of the lode coming down from No. 3to No. 4 level. Rich ore continues to come to hand from the back of No 5 level, similar to that treated by Eraser's pan plant, Auckland. Taken altogether, the prospects of the property looks exceptionally well at present.
