FRENCH AGGRESSION.
TWELVE TOWNS BURNED,
NARROW ESCAPE FROM COLLISION
WITH BRITISH TROOPS,
LONDON, November 8,
News has.been received that the French burned twelve towns in Hinterland Lagos claiming British protection, and have occupied Daorti, the capital, despite the treaty with Great Britain. Collision with a British force was narrowly averted. ■ British Conservative organs, in, commenting upon the situation in West Africa, insist that the policy of surrender to France must stop.
