A RECEPTION AT. CHRISTCHURCH.

' CHRISTCHURCH,- Saturday. The Governor and Lady Raufurly arrived this morning at Lyttelton, where they received addresses from the Harbour Board and Borough Council, and the Governor visited Fort Jervois and other, local institutions. The party were met at the Christchurch Railway Station by the Mayor and City Council, and a guard of honour of the Christchurch City Guards. The Mayor's daughter presented a bouquet. A procession was formed of the Governor's carriage under escort of the Mounted Kifles, carriages containing city councillors and members of the friendly societies on foot. The procession Avas headed by the ■Engineers' Band and the Cathedral bells rang a welcome peal. A triumphal arch was erected in the South Belt and in Cathedral Square, where a dais was constructed for the presentation of addresses from the City Council and the Orano-e Society. Christ's College Rifles formed the guard of honour. The Garrison Band was ordered out, but only a few members appeared. A crowd of several thousands assembled in the Square and the Governor was heartily cheered. Addresses from the Christchurch Ministers' Association and the Primitive Methodists were presented to the' Governor at at Elmwood this evening.
