Drunkenness.—One first offender Avas convicted and discharged on payment of 2s cab hire.
Alleged Theft.—Frank E\*ans, charged with stealing an umbrella, the property of Ernest Beale, pleaded not guilty.--On the application of Sergeant Clarke the accused Avas remanded for a Aveek.
Fighting.—Tavo young man named Wm. David McKell and Chas. Herbert McKell. were charged with using threatening behaviour, to Avit by lighting in Karangahape Road, Avhereby'a breach of the peace Avas occasioned.—His Worship convicted the accused and fined each 40s, with costs, in default seven days' imprisonment. Destitute Persons Act.—An application from Annie Coyle for the custody of her child, at present under the charge of her husband, Patrick Coyle, Avas declined.— An order for maintenance against Patrick Coyle Avas rescinded. —Mr Reed appeared for the husband. —Two other cases under this Act were adjourned. Alleged Forgery.—Michael Tobin, alias John Argall, Avas charged with that on or about the 11th October, at Auckland, he did forge the name of J. Olsen on a post office order for £2 2s Bd, and thereby unlaAvfully obtain the sum of £2 2s Sd.— Mr Lundon appeared for the accused. —There Avas a second . charge arising out of the evidence in the first charge, that at Totara, near Thames, he did steal a prayer-book, value 2s, the property of Eugene Hale. —After hearing evidence His Worship committed the accused to take his trial at the November sittings of the Supreme Court.—Bail was allowed accused in £100 and two sureties of £50 each.
