It is expected that half-a-million Americans will rush the Yukon goldlields early in the spring. One shipping iirm has already received 80,000 applications for passages. The White Pass route to the field is abandoned. It is strewn with dead horses, 3,200 having perished. Canadians prefer theStekin River route.
