THE ENGINEERS' STRIKE.
A WORKMEN'S MANIFESTO,
THE BOILER MAKERS' STRIKE,
LONDON, November 4.
Employers in the engineering trade are meeting at Manchester to arrange a definite course of action in connection with the strike.
A manifesto lias been issued by the Amalgamated Society of Engineers. ' It asserts that the men have been asked to sue for a dishonourable peace and also states that ten thousand pounds will be required weekly by the engineers in order to continue the struggle. The Executive of the Boiler Makers'and Iron and Steel Shipbuilders' Association has filled the places vacated by the London boiler _ makers Avho recently struck work for eight hours despite the Association's refusal to grant strike pay.
