AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket meadow hay sold for 2s; oaten sheaves, 2s 9d to 3s cwt ■ straAV, 12s to £1 3s load. On Friday horse stock, yarded numerously, Avere at late values. Draught horses ranged in price from £12 10s to £20; light harness, ,t's to £9 ; Avaggonettes, £22 and £17 respectively ; potatoes, £2 to £3 15s ; chaff, £3 to £4 ss; pressed hay, £3 to £3 10s straAV, £3 * bran,£4 ; pollard, £4 ; guano, £3 10s ton ; maize, 2s 2d to 2s 3d ; oats, 2s Gd bushel ; maize, on wharf, 2s bushel. On Tuesday hides, pitched in larger numbers than usual, Avere better worth. Ox hides ranged from 3^d to s|d ; cow hides, 3d to 3gd ; calfskins, 4d to s£d ; stags, lfd to 2|d lb ; tails, Is 4d doz ; tallow, 12s 9d to 13s ; fat, 9s 4d cwt; sheepskins, 2s 7d to 5s fid; pelts, 9d to lOd ; lambskins, Is to Is 4d each ; fleece wool, SJd to Ghd lb. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle yarded in less number than usual, Avere at late values. Prices for those at profit were from £3 to £0 each. Store cattle, fairly represented, Avere better worth. Calves of all classes in average number, 60 sold, were at late values. Fat cattle in less than average supply, 200 sold, varied in price, small aud medium sized Avere better worth. Heavy oxen, at lower prices, which ranged from lfis to £1 the 1001b, but the greater part were from 18s to 19s ; steers brought from £5 15s to £8 17sGd; cows, £4 to £0 each. Sheep, short of requirements, I.OGO sold, Avere slightly better worth. * Wethers in their Avool were from 15s Gd to 17s ; ewes, from 10s 9d to 15s Gd ; wethers, shorn, Ss 3d to 12s each. Lambs, in less number than required, sold freely at from 7s 9d to lis each ; 220 yarded. Pigs, in better supply than for several markets, kept their values. Heavy pigs from £1 15s to £2 2s ; porkers, £1 3s to £1 10s; stores, 19s; weaners, 8s 9d to 10s each ; 120 sold.

Messrs Hunter and Nolan's weekly report.-— Grain, seed, horscfced : There has been a slightly improved demand and sufficient quantities were brought forward. Prices for maize have had an upward tendency, and for other lines were maintained. We quote: Maize on wharf, 2s per bushel; feed oats, 2s 7d ; bran, £4 ton ; oaten chaff, £4 to £3 ton. Horses : An increased number were brought forward and sold at an advance on the previous week's values. A large number was submitted by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday. Competition was good throughout the sale and most of the lots were cleared. Heavy draught, from £12 to £25 10s; medium draught, £9 to £17 ; light harness, £4 to £11 10s. A number of unbroken colts and lillies suitable for from light harness to medium draught, £5 10s to £10. Wool, hides, skin, tallow, bones: A large catalogue was gone through at the Durham Yards on Tuesday under brisk competition. Cattle : Rather largo numbers have been brought forward, and disposed of without material alteration in value. The Newmarket Yards on Tuesday were fairly well iiiled, and competition was steady throughout the sale. The Papakura Yards were crammed on Wednesday, and there was good bidding. Rinney and Sons' Report. — On Tuesday we cleared a large catalogue of bides, sheepskins, tallow,* wool, etc. Hides : Prices again advanced, especially so for light and medium ox and cow • extra stout, from oid to 6d ; stout, 4kl to 4Jd ; medium, 4d ; light, 3..d to 3:,'' d ; cow, best lines, 3.jd to 3gd ; calf, 4d to 5.U1; kip, 2.? d to 3.j*d ; inferior hides, to id less ; stags, Ud to 2^'d lb. Sheepskins sold freely at late quotations. Pelts, 7d to 9d each. Tallow: Best lots from 12s to 12s 6d; superior up to 13s 9d ; mutton, 15s to 10s cwt. Bones: £3 15s ton. Bonedust: Sydney, £5 to £5 10s ton ; Emu, £5,10s to £0* ton ex store. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.—Auckland Wool Stores, November 3.—We had a* very full offering of hides and skins at our Tuesday's sale. Hides: Last week's prices were fully maintained with an upward tendency for best lines. Prime stout ox in good condition are worth skl to 6d ; heavy stout, 4Ad to s^d ; light and medium, 3^d to 4gd; scored and sloppy $d to less. Cow, best lines sold at 3^d to 3Ad ; kip, 3d to 3jd ; calf, sound, 5d to si'd ; cut and heavy weight, 3d to 4hL Sheepskins scarcely maintained last week's rates. Large salted skins sold at 4s 9d to 5s 4d ; picked, to 6s ; small and medium, 2s (id to 4s Gd ; halfbreds, 3s to 4s 3d. Tallow : Best rendered realised 12s 9d to 13s 3d ; medium, lis Gd to 12s 3d per cwt. Wool : All lots coming to hand are now held for auction on Ist prox. Hair: Horsehair is still freely inquired for at Is to Is 3d ; cowtail, 9d to lOd. Horns are worth 6s to ,15s per 100. Bones are not in keen demand. Market remains at about £3 5s to £3 7s 6il. Oats: Market is very weak and prices have fallen to 2s 1-^d c.i.f., on account of several holders being anxious to quit lines to avoid storage. We do uot look for any immediate change in this price, but any movement will probably be of an upward tendency. Maize: No change to report. Chaff: Slightly easier on account of sailer freights offering just now, but lines coming forward by steamer are commanding last week's prices. Potatoes: Market is slightly easier and prices have fallen to £3 5s on the wharf.
