NEW ZEALAND CYCLISTS' TOURING CLUB.
There was a large attendance of cyclists, both ladies and gentlemen, at the meetingconvened by Mr E.T. Sayers, Secretary of the New Zealand Cyclists' Touring Club, in the Chamber of Mines last evening. The meeting was convened for the purpose of laying the aims and objects of the Club, and the advantage of becoming a member of it, before the cyclists of Auckland. The chair was accupied by Mr Godefroi D. lngall, Vice-president' of the Auckland division. Mr Sayers in a short speech described the various matters for the welfare of cyclists that had been considered by the Council of the Club. One important movement they had made was in the direction of traffic regulations', in order that cyclists may obtain readier recognition of their rights on the road from vehicular traffic than they do at present. He stated that an effort is being made in order that bicycles may be more safely conveyed by rail, and more properly stored in the vans. Mr Sayers also stated that arrangements had been made at a large number of hotels throughout the colony for lower charges for members of the Club. The chief consul of the Auckland division, Mr J. W. Brown, and the Chairman also made a few remarks on the advantages of belonging to the Club. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Sayers for his able setting forth of the advantages of membership of the Club. A large number of those present were then enrolled as members of the Club.
