THE KAISER'S NEW BATTLE-SHIP.
At the recent launching- of the new German ironclad Kaiser VVilhelm der Zweit, at Wilhelmshaven, Prince Henry of Prussia emphasised in his conversation with the naval officers present that all misunderstandings between the Emperor and himself have been arranged. The Kaiser Wilhelm der Zweit is the first really large German ironclad. She is wholly equipped with quick-firing guns, her main armament consisting of eighteen centimeter guns, with a score of guns of a smaller calibre and a number of machine guns. The fifteen centimeter guns are described as having marvellous penetrating power. The war ship will be completed in 1899, at a cost of 20,000,000 marks.
