Wind between north and west and southwest at all places northward of Napier and New Plymouth, and southward of Timaru and Queenstown, and between north-east and north and west elsewhere. Barometer fall everywhere. Sea heavy on all western coast, and between Castlepoint and Lyttelton. Tides generally high. Westerly gales with rain are to be expected in all parts of the country.
