Drunkennses.— Arthur Allen was convicted of this offence, and as it ■was his fourth within six months, he was,sentenced to two months' imprisonmeht.Quinton' James Beresford pleaded guilty to being iound drunk while in charge of a horse and cab, and was ftned 20s and costs, in default seven days imprisonmenfc-A first oflender, a coloured man, was convicted and discharged with a caution. ... Insubordination. —A seaman nainci Christian Holm was. charged that being lawfully engaged on the s.s. "Waimate he was, on October 31st, guilty of •wilful' disobedience to the lawful command of the chief officer.—Accused pleaded guilty, and was fined 10s and costs 7s, in default U days' imprisonment. Alleged Theft of an Umbrella.-A man named Frank Evans was charged with stealing an umbrella, value ss, the property of some person unknown.—Sergeant Clarke asked for a remand till Friday, as the owner of the property had not yet wen discovered.—The accused raising no objection, the case was adjourned accordingly.
