The periodic sitting of the Mercer Court was held ab ten a.m. to-day before Captain Jackson, S.M. The only case was a debt case, A. Gibb v. Jas. Milne, for goods sold and delivered. Dr. Laishley appeared for defendant. The plaintiff, a storekeeper, and his bookkeeper gave evidence in support of the claim. But Dr. Laishley stated that defendant denied owin"' anything" and had witnesses in attendance.
