THE VICTORIAN PARLIAMENT.
MELBOURNE, this day.
Parliament was opened to-day by commission. The business consisted of the swearing in of members and of election of Speaker. Sixty-four members ranged themselves on the Government side, and 31 at the left of the Speaker. Mr Mason, formerly Chairman of Committees, was elected Speaker without opposition.
