WINS FOR UNITED, PARNELL AND GORDON.

Cup matches were continued on Saturday afternoon at the Auckland Cricket Ground and at Devonport. The attendance at the Domain was much larger than on the previous Saturday, and included a large number of ladies, for whom afternoon tea was supplied by lady friends of the United Club. The wicliets were better than at the opening day, but were still suffering from the effects of the rain. United gained an easy victory over Auckland. The latter made 59 in their first innings, and United, with 38 for six wickets, continued their innings on Saturday. The score reached 81 before the last wicket was captured, D. Hay being .the, chief contributor with 33. R. Neill's bowling was a) feature of- the innings,' as the Auckland trundler. took fiye wickets for 19 runs. Auckland *in their second attempt could only reach 52, the only man to reach double figures being R. Neill, with 15 not out. Stemson for United did a fine bowling performance, taking seven wickets for 35. United, on going to the wickets, succeeded in knocking up 32 runs after losing four wickets (Stemson 18 not out), thus winning the match by six wickets. In the Auckland XV.-Parnell match, the latter made 70 in the first innings, and Auckland responded with a total of 59, leaving Parnell with a majority of 11. In Parnell's second essay the bowling proved very destructive, and only 55 were compiled. J. R. Lundon, for Auckland, bowled with great effect, capturing seven wickets tor ten runs. The bell rang just after the completion of Parnell's second innings, leaving them the winners on the first innings by a majority of eleven. At Devonport Gordon were victorious in their match with North Shore. The former had made 106 in the first innings, and North Shore were all disposed of on Saturday for 87 (Mills, 51), leaving Gordon the winners on the first innings by 19 runs. G.
