VOLCANIC ERUPTION.
AN ISLAND THROWN UP.
SYDNEY, October 25.
News from the East states that Borneo was the scene of a tremendous volcanic eruption oft' the Coast on the 21st ult. Only slight tremours were felt ashore. A new • island has been thrown up between Manapakaul and Labridan, 50 yards from the main land opposite Labuan. The island is composed of clay and rock. .Its dimensions are 200 yards by 150 yards, and (30 feet High. It appears to be increasing in size.
