THE HOROWHENUA CASE.
THE PROHIBITIONISTS AND THE
POLICE INQUIRY
WELLINGTON, this day.
It is expected that there will be a general discussion at Tuesday's Ministerial caucus. Probably the personnel of the proposed Police Commission will be discussed. The Awarua seat decision may be canvassed, and the attitude of the le.t wing towards the Government is certain to be talked over. Then the idea of adjourning from Thursday fortnight for a couple of days to enable members to visit the Christchurch Show is also likely to be mooted. The Canterbury members are anxious to make tin-- visit, and to get a full representation of both branches of the Legislature. It is an open secret that both the Premier and the Minister of Agriculture are anxious to be present on the people's day at the Metropolitan Show. Lord Ranfurly will, of course, be present, and it is usual to have a Minister in attendance on such occasions.
