SHOOTING AFFAIR AT WAIUKU.

Waiuku, this day. A serious affair happened here early on Sunday morning. A resident named M. Hickey going home, it is said, under the influence of liquor found his young wife and two infants had gone to her parents' bouse. It is alleged that after using some threats he returned with a gun and discharged several shots round the house, but no one was hurt. The matter is in the hands of the police. Inspector Hick-son has received a telegram to similar effect from the constable stationed at Pukekohe.
Yesterday 11 ickey was arrested and brought before Captain Chapman, J.P., at Waiuku. The case was adjourned till the loth prox., when it will be heard by the Stipendiary Magistrate.
