M. Antolc Leroy Beaulien, in an article in " Debats'" says it is incredible that Baron Counsel, the French ambassador in England, should have been instructed to intimate to Great Britain the intention of France to resume the free coinage of .silver in the ratio of 154 to 1. National
bankruptcy would, he says, be the result of such a policy.
