INMAN DRAMATIC COMPANY
"ARRAH NA POGUE."
Another change of bill was made last | evening at the Opera House, when the I Inman Companystaged Boncicault'sfamous § Irish drama " Arrah Na Pogue" The X play is an old favourite, and in the hands wk of the present company loses nothing in the || representation. Indeed, they appear to || better advantage in " Arrah Ma rogue1' ff) than in anything they have yet produced, ||| and it is a pity the piece was not put on X earlier in the season. The popular parts of f._ the house were well filled last evening, but 1 the attendance in the dress circle was not | what it should have been considering the j: genuine merit of the production. MissMand ni Appleton in the title role gave the audience | another pleasing proof ot her versatility. Kg Her conception of the part was artistic*, I, and completely won the sympathies of the I house. Mr Inman appeared to great ad* X vantage as Colonel O'Grady, a true son of _~,, Erin, warm-hearted and impulsive. Mr I Leonard's delineation of the miserable 1 little police spy, Michael Feeney, was a {If fine piece of work, while honest, noble- §| hearted Shan found a very capable M exponent in Mr Scott Leigliton. Mr f Overton was well placed as Major Collin, | and Mr Newton Carroll did good work in 1.., the character of Beamish McCoull. The f other parts were all ably sustained, and I. altogether ■ the production was a great £| success. "Arrah No Pogue " will here* M peated this evening for the last time, and 1., on Saturday night the season closes with :■ "East Lynne."*" ;
