WELLINGTON, this day. The charge against the Ilenellys, man and wife, of ill-treating a boy was adjourned till next session to enable the birth ccrtifir cate to be obtained from England In the Divorce Court decree nisi was granted in Burn v. Burn, the husband's petition. INVERCAKC'ILL, this day. In a recent prosecution for exposing what was alleged to be unwholesome lish for sale, counsel for defendant took the objection that the lish should have been shown to the Magistrate or Justice before the summons was issued, also that it was no proof that lish which were shown to rival tradesmen and condemned by them came from the defendant's shop. Magistrate Poynton dismissed the information, holding that notice must first be given to i the person exposing the article, and if he did not withdraw it then he would have committed an offence. No costs were, allowed defendant. HAWERA, this day. It lias been decided to form a Volunteer Infantry Corps. The maximum strength is practically made up.
