Gisborne, this day. Thk s.B. Hinemoa arrived from Mahia last night. The steamer reached Mahia on Wednesday morning, and all Wednesday and Thursday was engaged carefully sounding without finding any uncharted dangers. Yesterday the wind came in from the north-east with a heavy roll, and in the evening Captain Neal had to run to Gisborne for shelter. Ib had been the captain's intention to pull out) the Tasmania's masts, they being dangerous to navigation, but the state or sea preventing this, he left the wreck marked with a buoy painted green.
The postmaster {Mr Wilkie) and divers return to Nnpier.
Mr Arm-1 rong, the Government surveyor, may probably have to go on to Auckland to report there.
