THE ENGINEERS' STRIKE.
EMPLOYEES REMAIN FIRM.
London, September 2. At the present time 378 engineering firms are resisting the demands of ihe engineers who are on strike for eight, hours as a day's labour.
The Secretary of the Employers' Federation states that there will be no termination of the dispute unless the men withdraw their demands, so far as the London district is concerned. Much trade will, he says, be driven outside of Britain before workmen are aware of it.
