THE WAINUI ACCIDENT.
(by telegraph.— press association.)
Ddnedin, this day. The directors of the Union Company considered Captain Lambert's case. They could nob agree wibh the finding of the Nautical Court bba. he was entirely free from responsibility, and were of opinion thab having run hie distance, and tho passage between tho mainland and Piege Rockß being only a mile wide, he should have taken more care to verify his position. Having regard to the arduous nature of the trade and his capital record since he has been in the sorvico, more especially during the lasb two years, and also bhe good judgmenb displayed after the accident, bhoy consider bhe case will bo sufficiently met by reducing him to a smaller boat. They therefore transferred his command to the Mawhera.
