MINE MANAGERS' REPORT.
Hastings".—Messrs Phillips and Co., supervisors of the Hastings Goldmining, Company's property, reporb that the various leaders and stringers that were appearing in the face of the upper drive have concentrated and formed a strong well-defined reef comprised of 18 inches of good looking ore, giving dish prospects. A lower drive was commenced ab the road level to pick up the above reef or one of its loaders. The country is favourable and leaders are already being encountered.
Star of Tairoa.—Three reefs have been cub by trenching. One is 2ffe wide of quartz and 2fb in rubbly quartz, another is 12ft wide and solid, and the third has a width of 20ft. This reef has also 10ft good rubbly quartz, with a nice appearance for gold, very firm, and contains a good deal of silica.
Golden Planet.—Since lasb reporb some differenb lodes, all carrying a little gold, have been cut through, bub tha class of quartz is nob the best; P'*rir_. —The new reef formation is aboub the same as lassb reported. The quartz coming to hand from both branches is of a solid bub good description for carrying gold. Komata Triumph. — The' prospector reports bhab on bhe R.uby section ho occasionally comes across loose pieces of quartz, and as the holding ab this part goes over the top of the spur, is satisfied these loose stones come from a lode in the company's ground.
