Butter price, wero offered bo-day for several of the Standard stocks on bho Exchange. South British Insurance were wanted at .5s Gd, New Zealand, ditto, ab 71s 6d, while buyers of Auckland Gas aharos. advanced thoir oilers to £14 10?. 6d tor old and £10 5s new, being the highest point yet reached by these stocks. Mining shares also showed _!ig__b improvemenb. Talismans again sold at ISs 3d, and wero still in demand ab 183, while for Waihis £7 7a waa still oliered. Alburnias sold freely at 4_, and moro could havo been placed at tho same rnlo. Four-iii-Hands were dealt in at Is 9d, Waihi Exter>dodß up to Is 2d, and Hauraki Noith contributing sold again ab 2_.
