WOODSTOCK AND TALISMAN.

Karangahake, bhia day.
This morning Mr Carvill, M.P., Chairman of Directors of the Woodstock G.M. Co., Mrßhodes, Secretary of the Company, and Mr McArthur, engineer for the Kauri Freehold Gold Estates, visited the Woodstock mine and battory in company with Mr McCombie, the manager. On Saturday, Captain Robaon, Mining Engineer of London, also went through bha mine with the manager, and appeared well pleased with the show. He took two or three pieces of the rich ore which is being obtained in the rise from No. 4 level to prove thab stone showing free gold is occasionally got in Karangahake. Yesterday the Talisman battery made a preliminary run, the water be.ing turned on and the machinery set going. Only a short time will elapse now before regular running commences.
