London, June 4,
In the course of an interview with Mr Chamberlain, Mr Seddon learned that an informal conference between the Colonial Premiers and the authorities of the Colonial Office will begin alter the Jubilee celebrations. The subjects to be discussed are closer trade relations between Britain and the colonies, proposals in reference to the investment of trust funds, iucrease of the Australian auxiliary squadron, and improving the colonial land defences, legislation in reterence to the exclusion of aliens from the colonies, and questions bearing upon the administration of affairs of the Pacific, chiefly Samoa.
Mr Chamberlain slated that the colonies had made a splendid response to his invitation to participate in the Jubilee celebrations. He was delighted that the great change in British feeling witli regard to the colonies was not a question of sentiment, but of conviction. He also referred to ihc increasing value of the trade between Britain and her colonies.
