In view of the alarming prevalence of contagions diseases in the Indian army disclosed in bhe recent departmental report, Lord George Hamilton, Secrebary for India, proposes thab the cantonmenb rulea applying to cholera and small-pox shall be extended to all contagious disease?. If thiß proposal ia nob adopted other measures will be taken to increase the powers of the medical officers to protecb the troops.
