Paeroa, this day.
Sickness is very rife ab present in Paeroa, especially amongst children, croup and colds being the prevalent form of disease
Great competition is going on amongst coach proprietors here, and the return fare bo Thames has now been reduced by one line bo 2e 6d. No less than five coaches leave Paeroa now daily for Thames, three for Waitekauri, and four for Waibi, whilst for Karangahake coaches run every hour. The result of bhe recent race meeting on 17tb and 18th insb. has been most satisfactory, viz., in nett profic to the Club of aboub £400. The Club purpose, if possible, buying the present course, and making numerous improvements which should result in a first class track being obtainable for the nßxt meeting.
