NEWCASTLE COAL.
A REMARKABLE REVIVAL,
Sydney, this day. Great activity prevails in the Newcastle coal bi-ade. During last week almost every colliery in the district was working full time. The average quantity of coal shipped during the first four days was eleven thousand tons daily. A gratifying feature is increased demand from the East, including Japan, and Newcastle is gradually resuming its old position in these markets.
