Athens, February 19. Sai; )o was recently sent to Crcu ... Envoy from the Sultan, and subsequently recalled at the request of the Powers, has again sailed for Crete with three battalions of Turkish troops. Colonel Vassos, on hearing this, moved his headquarters to Gonia. The King of Greece commands the northern army of Greece. The Turks hzve occupied a fortified position in Canea. Colonel Vassos is making arrangements for the holding ot municipal elections throughout the island, and intends to instal Cretan mayors. All the Greek Consulates in Crete have lowered their flags. British and Italian torpedo boats prevented the Greek warship Hydra conveying food supplies to Colonel Vassos' forces. London, February 19. Mr Gladstone says Turkey is an outlaw, and that the idea of assisting her by British force is detestable. Sir VV. Harcourt and Earl Kimberley expressed the opinion that the nation should resent the idea of British force preventing the liberation of Crete.
