VOLLEY FIRING MATCH.
WON BY AUCKLAND,
This match waa open to twenty volunteers from each provincial disbricb selected in bhe name way as for the disbricb representation match teams and the permanent force. Distance 500 yds, seven volleys. Prizes given by the Defence Minister £20, £10 and £5. In this match points were given for words of command, time, and hie on the targets. The match was won by the Auckland team, whose volley was adjudged the beat. The points awarded were: Auckland, £20 « 516 Wanganui, £10 .- ... 451 Canterbury, £5 ... 389 Wellington 325 Auckland made 437 points for hits, 54 for volleys, 25 for commands. Two of Auckland's volleys were good, three middling, and two fairly good. COMPANIES' TEAMS MATCH. Two out of three ranges have been fired :— Hon. Reserve*, Christchurch ... ... 300 Hon.
